What the Badges Mean on Pillion Link

Blue ticks, badges and member ratings help you see at a glance who's genuine and who's worth riding with. Here's what each one means, and how to earn them yourself. Whether you're looking for riding mates, a pillion or something more, they're one of the quickest ways to decide who to say hello to first, and earning them is one of the easiest ways to make your own profile stand out.

Badges That Show Someone Is Genuine

The Blue Tick

Shows that a member has verified their identity with government ID. Once it's on a profile, you can be confident you're talking to a real person, which makes life much harder for catfish.

How to get it: Verify your profile. It's free for every member, whether you're on a free account, VIP or VIP+.

The Validation Badge

Shows that a member of the Pillion Link team has reviewed and approved the profile by hand. It's a good option if you'd rather not share identity documents.

How to get it: Ask for admin profile validation. Someone from the team checks your profile, and no sensitive documents are needed.

There's also a video verification option: a quick live check with a moderator, with no documents needed.

Badges You Earn by Getting Involved

Chatterbox, Heartthrob and Most Popular

Badges you earn through your activity on Pillion Link. They tell other members you're real, active and worth connecting with.

How to get it: Get stuck in: keep your profile up to date with photos of you and your bike, comment on articles and posts, join in with polls, and chat to other riders and pillions.

Member Ratings

Each member's rating reflects their behaviour on the site and the feedback other members give them. After an interaction you can give it a quick thumbs up or thumbs down with one click, which encourages respectful behaviour and flags bad experiences early. When you're deciding who to message or who to ride with, a good rating is a reassuring sign.

A Good Sign, Not a Guarantee

Plenty of genuine riders haven't verified yet, and your own instincts still matter. If something doesn't add up, our guide on how to spot a fake profile runs through the red flags, and you can always report or block a member straight from their profile.

Why It's Worth Earning Them

Badges show people, before they've read a word of your profile, that you're genuine and worth getting to know. Start with the blue tick, keep your profile fresh, and get involved in the community. The rest tends to follow.
